I have loved watching the development of this piece from wrong hand sketch to finished painting. I can't leave a comment on the final piece-no comments box- but I particularly like the remaining tension in the string and the beautiful feminine form of the pear.
Thank you so much, Threadspider. I really appreciate your comments here.
I apologize for the lack of a comment box in my last post and would like to explain a bit why that is so.
My last post will be my last post as this blog will cease to be updated from now on. Like cancelling my printing matrices, it's time for me to move on from blogging.
It's been a little more than two years since beginning this blog. The experience has taught me much about my art making. It's given me the opportunity to clarify my thoughts a bit. It's also exposed me to the world of the digitally connected. Most endearingly, though, it's introduced me to you, Threadspider, and to so many other wonderful souls.
Thank you, again, for your visits here. I hope we can keep in touch via your blog - or e-mail - or by post.
Dear Mary, I have so enjoyed your blog -- you have taught me so much about blogging and about the practice of art. Your dedication is truly an inspiration, as is your lovely painting, drawing and printmaking. I will truly miss this blog! I hope we can stay in touch. Best to you in your artwork going forward.
Thank you so much for your comment and kindness, Kit.
I would love to keep in touch. Your blog is one of my favorites and I'll look forward to seeing you there. And since we're so close (I'm only 5 miles west of Minneapolis), maybe we can join one another in a walk when the weather breaks. Hopefully, that's right around the corner!

Take good care - and thank you again, Mary

Thanks for sharing this last work! I enjoyed watching it come along
I'm glad you liked it, Art.
It looks like you're back from your vacation - hope you had a restful time. I'm looking forward to reading about your upcoming ravels!
