Small Comfort

For People to fall through the Gaps in the System they need to be at least the size of Manholes (a.k.a. Tissue), oil on canvas, 30 x 24 inches

Thank you for stopping by, Britt - and for your kind comment.

Hah!
Manhole covers are round precisely so that they can never fall through the holes. . . the gaps are inaccessible to the cover.

The string is the frustrating physics here.

Maybe these titles are simply meant to engage part of the mind - while the image speaks to another part?

The other night there was another flood of these phrases. As long as they keep coming, I think I'll continue using them for painting titles. It seems silly to leave them in my sketchbook.

Thanks for the comment, Steven.

It looks all crumpled up there in its corner. The title just works with this one.

I love the differences of light in this series.

Thanks, Sus - I appreciate you sharing your impressions.

Another one is on the easel - maybe on Thursday I'll be able to post it. They're coming about slower for some reason lately. Might be the cold.
